An Integrative Approach

Many people searching for courses, look at location, times and costs which are all practical and important factors. With so many counselling courses available, what does Integrative counselling mean as opposed to Person Centred, Humanistic, CBT or other one perspective approaches? Integrative counsellor training provides a vast toolbox consisting of numerous techniques spanning several theoretical approaches. This understanding of several theories and schools of thought enables the seamless integration of skills into one cohesive package. This package being as unique as you are, ultimately becoming your way of working as opposed to ‘the’ way of working that single perspective courses offer. With individuality being key, and our responses and needs being unique, this enables you to personalise, adapt and tailor your approach to each individual client in response to their goals and needs. After all counselling is not a one size fits all reductionist process, our lives are complex and diverse with many often conflicting and contributary components to the difficulties we face.
